OUR 2025 SPACE SCIENCE SAMPLER INSTRUCTOR

BS Civil Engineering, Massachusetts Institute of Technology
BS Literature, Massachusetts Institute of Technology
MA Film Studies, University of Wisconsin-Madison
Greg has been leading our Super Science Sampler since 2021. This summer he is passing the torch to Elisa Guzman, but wait, there’s more. He is hatching our first ever Space Science Sampler and we are planning on a collaboration with the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics! Many parents have told us that the young ones in their family love space science and we promise that this Sampler will be out of this world.
PS Last summer Greg had sell-out weeks and all families gave him a 9 or 10 out 10.
Guest presenter

Paula Pardo – Astrophysics major and Data Science Master’s student at Illinois Institute of Technology (GPA: 3.35)
Growing up in Bogota, Colombia, the city’s inspiring slogan, “Bogota: 2,600 meters closer to the stars,” ignited Paula’s boundless curiosity. As a child, she often dreamed of touching a star, and her grandfather, recognizing her fascination, gifted her a captivating pop-up book on the moon landing. With delicate paper parts moving gracefully, the book recreated the trajectory of Apollo 11’s rocket, instantly igniting Paula’s passion for space and rocket science. Now, as she pursues a Bachelor’s degree in Astrophysics, Paula enthusiastically dives into the world of rocket science and explores the vast expanse of the universe. Having gained experience mentoring students and effectively communicating science, she eagerly looks forward to sharing her knowledge and insatiable curiosity this summer. Paula will join us for Live with Paula via a video link when she will share the wonders of stars!
Here is a brief rundown of what we are planning to do:

“My favorite part was the Sun; using a special filter was amazing.”
– Solomon Rosner, participant
“The Galileo’s Astronomy program was a real eye opener for the kids. I think it was presented in a way that really engaged them, creating a lasting interest in science and engineering.”
– Donald Green, dad
“(I liked) the instructor’s way of teaching my child — easy going approach — fun — no pressure.”
– parent
Join us for a week of space exploration! Indoors and outdoors your child will have fun learning about such diverse topics as communicating, living, working and exploring beyond Earth.
Programs like this are a way to enrich summertime. It is a fun way to explore a topic, or in this case a broad field, encompassing physics, chemistry, mathematics, biology, engineering, exploration itself and everything that goes into supporting and managing these endeavors.
This goes beyond the classroom. Children get to see themselves working in a field of applied science; and one that they enjoy. As one child exclaimed last summer, “I feel like an engineer!”
