Why send your kid to an Edge on Science Summer STEM Program?

Summer STEM programs are more than just another science class or a way to keep your kids busy. Our summer STEM programs are carefully crafted to provide rigorous, engaging, and fun hands-on programming for kids.

Our Summer STEM programs offer many benefits, including:

  1. A Deeper Dive into Topics of Interest
Unlike a traditional school science class, Edge on Science gives campers the chance to take a deeper dive into topics that truly excite them. Each program is designed with rigor and flexibility in mind. Campers explore at their own pace while receiving guidance and challenges appropriate to their individual skill and knowledge level.
  2. Small Group Sizes and Narrow Age Ranges
Our small group sizes, limited to just 10-12 students, ensure that each camper gets the individualized support they need to succeed. Instructors and their assistants tailor lessons and projects to meet each camper’s interest and ability level. Further, our small grade ranges allow each session to be adapted to the developmental level and learning pace of the group. This structure promotes both rigorous learning and a welcoming, collaborative environment where no one gets left behind.
  3. Team Building
STEM projects at Edge on Science are designed to be both intellectually engaging and teamwork-driven. Campers work together on design challenges, troubleshooting, and group presentations. These experiences strengthen their ability to communicate, collaborate, and solve problems collectively. These are real-world skills that translate far beyond a summer program, preparing them for future academic and professional success.
  4. Leadership Development
Summer programs are a powerful place for young leaders to emerge. At Edge on Science, campers have the opportunity to take the lead in group projects, communicate and present their work, and take ownership of their own project decisions. Older campers can even step into Counselor-in-Training roles, building confidence, responsibility, and leadership skills that carry into school, extracurriculars, and beyond.
  5. Safe, Supportive Fun
At Edge on Science, safety and fun go hand in hand. Every program is run by trained instructors who prioritize both physical safety and a safe learning environment, ensuring that campers can take intellectual risks and experiment freely. Within this supportive environment, learning becomes an adventure filled with discovery, laughter, and the excitement of genuine achievement.
